Captain Bubby Howell

Captain Bubby is a local resident who has been exploring and discovering the area's natural treasures for over 40 years. Your guide is a trained docent and as a result thinks creatively and knows how make exceptional things happen!

Motivated to aid in the protection and enhancement of the area's fragile ecosystems, Bubby teaches people their role in coexisting, ensuring the protection of wildlife, natural habitats and surrounding aquatic ecosystems. 

Bubby is one of only 1,478 individuals listed on the Honor Roll of Florida Master Naturalists.

Paula Schuttera

Paula is Bubby's First Mate, have and they have known each other for 45 years.  As destiny was meant to be, they were brought back together seven years ago and have remained a team ever since. As First Mate, Paula's role is to do everything that Bubby doesn't want to do. :) Paula has a thirst for learning and holds multiple degrees including a Masters in Business - Organizational Management and has always enjoyed working with the public and for the community.

First Puppy Mate Dinky

Dinky is a  Bichson mix who rescued Bubby 15 years ago. When they first met Dinky could fit in Bubby;s hand which she still controls as well as The Captain's heart.
